Ramus provides an AI-assisted research and document retrieval platform that returns excerpts and links to third-party historical documents, particularly declassified or public government records. Our Service uses artificial intelligence to make these archives searchable, analyzable, and interactive through a modern interface. The Service includes features such as vector search, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI-written summaries or answers.
While we strive for accuracy and reliability, our Service is provided in beta status, and we make no guarantees regarding the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of the information provided.
The Service is currently free. Ramus reserves the right to introduce fees, credit systems, or subscription tiers at any time after notice. Options may include pay-per-query, institutional subscriptions, and licensing of AI models. Continued use after fees take effect constitutes acceptance of the charges.
To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete. All code, algorithms, embeddings, user interface, generated explanations, and other content created by Ramus are owned by Ramus and protected by intellectual property laws. The Ramus name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of Ramus or its affiliates.
Ramus grants you a non-exclusive, revocable license to access the Service for personal research purposes only. This license is limited to viewing documents through the Service interface and does not include permission to:
You are solely responsible for determining the intellectual property rights and applicable licenses for any document accessed through the Service. You assume all liability for how you store, reproduce, cite, distribute, or otherwise use any material obtained through the Service.

Ramus does not guarantee that it will identify or display applicable license terms for each document. Any use of documents beyond viewing them through the Service is entirely at your own risk and legal responsibility.
Ramus collects and stores user inputs, system responses, and interactions with the Service ("Usage Data") to operate, maintain, and improve the Service. This includes but is not limited to enhancing search functionality, refining AI model performance, monitoring system behavior, and developing new features.
By using the Service, you grant Ramus a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use Usage Data for these purposes. Usage Data is not shared with third parties except as required by law or as part of aggregated, anonymized analytics.
THE SERVICE AND ITS CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. RAMUS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Outputs generated by the Service are machine-generated and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or inappropriate information. Ramus does not guarantee that the Service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RAMUS, ITS AFFILIATES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE.
Ramus' cumulative liability is capped at USD 0 while the Service is free (or fees paid in the last 12 months once pricing starts).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ramus and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from: (i) your breach of these Terms; (ii) your use of the Service; (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any intellectual property right, publicity, confidentiality, property, or privacy right; or (iv) your use or distribution of documents surfaced through the Service.
Ramus reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. Ramus shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within Delaware for the resolution of any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
Ramus respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please provide our Copyright Agent with the following information:

You agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations when using the Service, including any laws regarding the export of data or software to and from the United States or other relevant countries.
Ramus shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these Terms where such failure results from any cause beyond Ramus's reasonable control, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electronic, or communications failure or degradation.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Ramus regarding the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, proposals, or representations, written or oral, concerning the subject matter of these Terms.
